Biography
Brad Howland worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block, National Money Mart's Income Tax Department, and Fladar & Greene Chartered Accountants before forming Howland Tax Services in the early 1990s.
Brad has over 15 years of experience handling all types of income tax situations and returns. He is especially aware of the tax situations of musicians in Canada and the United States, being a professional musician himself.
Brad holds the Principal Trombone chair of the Victoria Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of the Beacon Hill Brass, and has performed with the Palm Court Orchestra and the new music group Aventa Ensemble.
He is currently on the faculty of the Comox Valley Youth Music Centre, in the past teaching at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, the Conservatory's Summer Jazz Workshop, the Marrowstone Music Festival, and the University of Victoria.
Brad performed as a member of the Victoria Symphony Brass Quintet for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, at Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria, BC. Some of the notable people he has performed on the same stage with (as an orchestral or side musician) are Natalie MacMaster, Paul Anka, Sarah Brightman, Kiri Te Kanawa, David Foster, Dudley Moore, The Moody Blues, The Three Irish Tenors, Sheena Easton, Kenny G, and Celine Dion.
